Birthday

Ivan Nartov was born on August 28, 2016, in New York City. It was the beginning of a journey that would eventually lead him to discover a passion for hockey and life between the pipes. Soon after Ivan was born, his family moved from New York to South Florida, where he would grow up. At the time, no one could have known how important the ice would eventually become in his life. Every journey has a beginning — and this was Ivan’s.

Somewhere in Caribbean

At seven years old, while on a family cruise through the Caribbean, Ivan discovered an ice-skating rink aboard the ship. What started as a fun vacation activity quickly became something much more as he learned his first skating steps, fell, got back up, and kept wanting to return to the ice. By the end of the cruise, Ivan had fallen in love with skating and couldn’t get enough of being on the rink. He asked his parents to take him ice skating when the family returned home to Palm Beach, Florida. That unexpected rink in the middle of the Caribbean became the first real step in Ivan’s journey toward hockey.

Joins Palm Beach Hawks as Center Forward

At eight years old, Ivan took the next step in his hockey journey by joining the Palm Beach Hawks Hockey Club. He began his competitive hockey career as a forward, playing center, learning the fundamentals of the game and developing his skating and puck skills. Every practice and game strengthened his passion for hockey and his desire to improve. He didn’t know it yet, but his true position on the ice was still waiting for him.

Makes the change of his life - chooses to continue his career as a Goaltender.

In 2026, Ivan joined the Palm Beach Hawks 10U AA as a goaltender, marking one of the biggest steps in his young hockey journey. Leaving his role as a skater behind, he committed himself to the unique challenge and responsibility of protecting the net. Becoming a goalie transformed his passion for hockey into a bigger dream and gave him a position he could truly call his own. With every practice and every save, Ivan began chasing his lifetime dream of one day becoming an NHL goaltender.
